2025年10月16, 17日の2日間、The 2nd core to core international bio symposium 2025がインドネシア、バリのHarris Hotel & Conventions Denpasarにて開催されました。
本シンポジウムは、JSPSの研究拠点形成事業「B.アジア・アフリカ学術基盤形成型」（研究代表者：広島大学　荒川賢治先生）の国際シンポジウムであり、研究プロジェクトに参画する日本、インドネシア、フィリピン、ベトナムからたくさんの研究者や学生が参加しました。この事業の目的は「自律的で継続的な国際研究交流拠点の構築」であり、４カ国から参加する各大学の研究者同士が研究課題を通じて交流し、健康長寿の維持増進や地球温暖化にともない地域拡大が予想される熱帯感染症への対策を指向した国際研究拠点の構築を目指しています。

今回のシンポジウムは、昨年、広島大学で開催された第1回に続く第2回目。2日間で、30名の研究者が招待講演を行い、24題の一般講演と60題を超えるポスター発表も行われました。当研究室からは濱野先生と丸山先生が本研究課題に参画しており、本シンポジウムでも招待講演とパネルディスカッションを行いました。東南アジアの学生は非常に積極的で、パネルディスカッションでも研究内容について多くの質問がされていました。

The 2nd Core to Core International Bio Symposium 2025 was held over two days on October 16 and 17, 2025, at the Harris Hotel & Conventions Denpasar in Bali, Indonesia.
This symposium was an international event under the JSPS Research Center Formation Program “B. Asia-Africa Academic Infrastructure Formation Type” (Principal Investigator: Professor Kenji Arakawa, Hiroshima University). Numerous researchers and students from Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, participating in the research project, attended. The project’s objective is to “establish an autonomous and sustainable international research exchange hub.” It aims to build an international research base focused on maintaining and promoting healthy longevity and countermeasures against tropical infectious diseases, whose regional spread is anticipated due to global warming, by facilitating exchanges among researchers from participating universities in the four countries through shared research topics.

Over two days, 30 researchers gave invited lectures, 24 general presentations were made, and over 60 poster presentations were held. From our laboratory, Prof. Hamano and Dr. Maruyama, who are participating in this research project, gave invited lectures and participated in a panel discussion at this symposium. Students from Southeast Asia were very active, asking numerous questions about the research content during the panel discussion.
